Counselling

The RMIT Counselling Service provides professional counselling on each campus and is available to all students who may want to talk about:

• stress
• depression
• anxiety
• relationships
• family matters
• sexual assault
• identity issues
• study issues
• suicidal thoughts or self injury
• homesickness
• adjusting to Melbourne or Uni
• motivation issues
• procrastination
• exam stress
• presentation performance stress and anxiety
• anything else you would like to talk about in confidence.

Please note:

• all our counsellors are registered psychologists with specialist post-graduate training in counselling
• as a student of RMIT you can use our counselling service free of charge.

Booking an appointment to see a counsellor

For all counselling appointments at the City, Bundoora or Brunswick campus please phone:

• +61 3 9925 4365 from 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday.

You can also book appointments by dropping into the counselling service at City and Bundoora campus (addresses below).

Please note:

• demand for our service is high and at certain times of the year you may experience a delay in getting an appointment
• if you live near either the Brunswick campus or the Bundoora campus, you can book in to see a counsellor at one of these campuses for a more convenient appointment.

Daily drop-in sessions

A limited number of daily drop-in sessions are available at the City campus. These appointments can only be booked for the same day and are available on a first come, first served basis.

Cancellations or rescheduling your appointment

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please call the counselling service, +61 3 9925 4365, at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment.
