Student profile – Ashley Crowe

I’m currently completing an internship program with Carlton Football Club. This has been an amazing opportunity to have supervised hands on Myotherapy experience in an elite sports environment.

Working with other complementary medicine professionals and being supervised by a qualified Myotherapist, means that I’ve learnt many different treatment techniques. It has definitely advanced my knowledge.

I always had an interest in anatomy and physiology; I also wanted to help others in a health setting. After completing my Psychology degree and not knowing what to do next, I looked into Myotherapy.

I heard that RMIT offered the best Myotherapy course so I decided to apply as a mature age student.

My program not only gives me the knowledge and skills I need for my chosen profession, it provides me with real life experiences in the clinic. Experience in the teaching clinic also teaches us how to interact with patients, which is an important practical skill.

The Myotherapy program is interesting and fulfilling. It is an intense course, but I love it and can’t imagine what I would do instead.

In the future, I would love to work for the NBA. I know it’s a big dream, but I believe with the knowledge I have and some hard work, I can get there.

Myotherapy can take you in so many directions. It’s very exciting - the hardest part is choosing where you want to go!
