Blood donation and institutional altruism in China
An ethnographic study was conducted with 57 interviews of blood centre staff and blood donors as well as observations of mobile blood vans in Northern China. The presence of institutional altruism such as sending SMS messages and mobilising public gift giving during historic events was examined to better promote voluntary blood donation in contemporary China.

Democratic Governance in Asia: Fact or Fiction?
In an increasingly interconnected and interdependent global space, governments all around the world are facing an enormous challenge of managing their day-to-day operations effectively and efficiently. Countries in Asia are no exception. Many countries have been practicing a Western-style democratic system of governance. There have, however, been ongoing and contentious debates on whether these countries are sticking by democratic norms and principles.
