Definitions
Direct contact - direct contact is any contact with a child that involves the following:
- Physical contact
- Talking face to face, or
- Being within eyeshot; this means you are physically able to see them.
Direct supervision does not require constant physical presence. For example, a person who is directly supervising a staff member may leave the room in which the worker is engaging in work to make a phone call.
