Students from Kirkwood Community College, USA, visited the Business TAFE School at RMIT University recently as part of an international study tour.
The students spent time with RMIT Marketing students as part of a transnational work integrated learning project.
Student teams were established in Australia and the USA earlier this year to work together on developing a marketing and communications plan for audio book company, Bolinda.
The teams have been communicating via Skype, email and Facebook throughout the semester and the study tour allowed them to meet face-to-face and present their findings to Bolinda’s management team.
Sally Parrott, Program Manager - Marketing, Advertising and Public Relations, said: “This was a great opportunity for students to work on a global project and gain experience in developing real-life marketing solutions.
“The client was impressed with the students’ presentations and is looking to implement a number of their recommendations.”
RMIT’s relationship with Kirkwood had grown over the past 10 years and now provides internships for higher education students as well as exchange opportunities for TAFE students.
