Franz Fuss is the program leader of Sports Engineering Technologies Program (Sportzedge) within the Platform Technologies Research Institute, where he is responsible for developing, facilitating and supporting research on advanced, smart and innovative sports equipment and methods for performance analysis.

With a multidisciplinary background in education and training he works across the interdisciplinary and holistic area of sports engineering and technology. He has extensive experience in research across different disciplines, from human medicine over bioengineering to mechanical engineering.

Professor Fuss is also the Editor-in-Chief of the Sports Technology journal.
