Key activities

Michael is a lecturer in the Youth Work program, located in the School of Global Studies Social Science and Planning. He coordinates the Youth Work Field Education courses for 2nd and 3rd year students. He also coordinates and teaches the courses Mapping the Youth Sector and Youth Work Skill Sets.

Prior to his appointment at RMIT Michael held a variety of positions in the youth sector. This included a position as a Youth and Family worker with Crossroads Reconnect. Michael's work with Crossroads Reconnect was one of the 36 examples of good youth work practice selected to be included in the Foundation for Young Australians commissioned 'What Works' series. Michael is interested in supervising honours and Masters by Research students in topics that are related to youth work, professional practice and human services.
