Understand the complex world of international trade which is the exchange of goods and services between countries.
It draws on a complex web of resources in manufacturing, marketing, finance and logistics, and involves both government and the private sector.
You'll gain knowledge, training and vocational skills to effectively compete in all sectors of international business at an operational and middle-management level.
Suited to people currently employed in international business, this program demands sensitivity to different cultures and other personal qualities.

Learning and teaching
RMIT's new Swanston Academic Building, offers interactive lecture and tutorial spaces, lectorial theatres, small-group rooms and other innovative spaces.
Part-time classes can include blended delivery, flexible education and/or evening classes.
RMIT offers a variety of learning and teaching approaches including lectures, seminars, studios, workshops, presentations, group discussions and syndicate work. These are primarily in English.
You will have access to the Learning Hub and other online and digital resources through the myRMIT student portal.
Ongoing assessment throughout the semester includes examinations, essays, reports, oral classes, presentations, group projects, research projects, laboratory projects and practical assignments.
Program structure
Year 12 applicants typically apply for the Certificate IV and complete the suite of 3 programs in 2 years full-time.
Non-Year 12 applicants with prior skills, knowledge, experience or qualifications in international business or similar can apply for recognition of prior learning (RPL), or do 1 of the 3 programs depending on needs and experience.
Note: Each qualification level is a new enrolment in a new program. Your eligibility for a government-subsidised place will be assessed before you enrol in each new program, and these results will determine the fees you'll pay.

You'll work in groups to conduct a research project.

Graduates work as officers or in middle management in the freight forwarding, shipping and transport industry, private and public import and export companies, and in service areas like international banking and insurance.

Global opportunities
Full-time students can gain credit towards their program by doing a one semester or one years' international exchange program at a partner institution.
Final year students can do an international study exchange with Kirkwood Community College, USA.
A limited number of exchange scholarships are available each year.

Pathways
Graduates of the Certificate IV in International Trade can progress to the Diploma of International Business or the Diploma of Logistics.
Graduates of the Diploma of International Business can progress to the Advanced Diploma of International Business.
Graduates of the Advanced Diploma of International Business can apply for exemptions from these programs, subject to meeting each program's entry requirements:
