Scholarships and Prizes Advisory Committee

Authority

This is an advisory committee reporting to the Vice-Chancellor through the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic).

Terms of reference

  1. The Committee seeks to facilitate the objectives of policy governing student scholarships and prizes by providing
    1. strategic advice to the University on student scholarships and prizes
    2. support and governance for the University on student scholarships and prizes
    3. a forum for consultation across all Colleges and Portfolios
  2. The Committee monitors current student scholarship and prizes offerings, identifies gaps and considers targets for future activities
  3. The Committee reviews and recommends improvements for policies and procedures for the establishment and management of scholarship and prizes programs including the application of consistent and transparent selection criteria
  4. The Committee will address the development of the following areas
    1. Key Performance Indicators
    2. marketing and promotion
    3. engagement with donors
  5. The Committee provides analysis and interpretation of trends and creates proposals for scholarship and prize programs and their funding
  6. The Committee will review its terms of reference annually

Procedures

  1. The Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) reports each quarter to the Vice-Chancellor regarding the business of the Committee.
  2. Progress and evaluation reports of current scholarship and prize offering, expenditure reports and forecasts will be regularly tabled or as required.
  3. An annual report will be produced.

  • Pro Vice-Chancellors & Vice Presidents of academic Colleges or nominees
  • Deputy Vice-Chancellor & Vice President Research and Innovation or nominee
  • Chief Operating Officer and Vice President Resources or nominee
  • Executive Director Financial Services Group or nominee
  • Deputy Vice-Chancellor & Vice President International and Development or nominee
  • Executive Director University Marketing or nominee
  • Director Development or nominee
  • Assistant Director Alumni and Advancement Services
  • Director TAFE and Vice President or nominee

The Committee has the authority to co-opt additional members as necessary.

Secretarial support

The Committee will be supported by an Officer of the Dean of Students Office
