Vice-Chancellor’s message
Thank you for investing in our future.
RMIT’s unique story began with a far-sighted investment: in 1887 local philanthropist Francis Ormond gave $5,000 to establish The Working Men’s College, which was matched by smaller donations from the ordinary people of Melbourne.
That one act of generosity produced thousands of graduates – architects, designers, builders and dressmakers – whose practical skills and creative drive helped to develop Melbourne into one of the most liveable cities in the world.
When you donate to RMIT, you too create something far-reaching: you help to build our capacity for the future. Not just the capacity of RMIT as a global university of technology and design, but the capacity of individuals – our students, researchers and alumni – to make their own unique difference in the world.
Thank you for supporting everything we do at RMIT – our future is very bright.
