RMIT University has been pre-eminent in the fields of media and communication, and the University continues to diversify its expertise in response to the rapidly changing marketplace. Traditional forms of media are converging with new technologies to create more personalised user interactions and data management customisation. As the premier Australian university for journalism, and we are expanding our expertise in new media such as animation, gaming and information technology applications. The 2011 Excellence in Research Australia publication ranked RMIT above world standard in communication and media studies.
