Gain work experience overseas

RIIERP provides outstanding opportunities to undertake international industry placements at some of the world's leading companies.

RMIT University is an international university of technology, committed to providing students with the learning, teaching, research and training to excel in an open world economy – a Global Passport.

Innovation in teaching methods, curriculum development, work placements and research projects are benchmarked against world’s best practice.

RMIT is increasingly integrating learning and teaching and staff development across its Melbourne and Vietnam campuses.

The University aims to ensure the portability of its awards, to enable graduates to engage in their professions globally.

This global vision informs the University’s relationships with industry, community and international partners in Australia and around the world.

The following is a video highlighting RMIT University's involvement in the wider community, both nationally and internationally, developed for Founder's Day.

Students

RMIT’s international education and industry networks provide a wide range of opportunities for students to enhance their education or research experience – at the University’s campuses in Melbourne and Vietnam; with partner institutions in Singapore, Malaysia and China; and through education and industry links throughout the world.

To complement a program of study that is internationally relevant, most RMIT students can build an international component into their program, with options including overseas study, overseas work placements, taking part in an overseas project or showing work in international exhibitions.

Students may be eligible for a range of scholarships and grants to support overseas study and travel.

Staff

RMIT’s Academic Plan 2006-2010 encourages initiatives that link the University’s “twin hubs” in Melbourne and Vietnam. The Graduate Certificate in Tertiary Teaching and Learning program includes a component at RMIT Vietnam. Academic staff are eligible to apply for fellowships and awards that support international research or industry placements.

Industry and business

RMIT welcomes opportunities to collaborate with industry, business and government and community organisations worldwide. More than 1,000 RMIT students have already completed work placements with leading companies in Asia, Europe and North America. Academic staff are keen to receive expressions of interest in collaborative research on a global scale.
