Project overview
Building 9 is the new home for the School of Media and Communication. The 71 year old building required a renovation to improve its functionality and internal visual appeal.
Building 9 now has two additional storeys. The new storeys include the addition of innovative classrooms and office spaces. Sustainable design features were included in the renovation.
The renovations of Building 9 consolidated the School of Media and Communication. Previously, the School was housed across seven building on the City Campus. This consolidation will reinforce the School’s identity within RMIT.
Building 9 has received several architectural awards.
