Upgrading to the new Certificate IV TAE40110 in Training and Assessment
Do you currently have a qualification in the Certificate IV TAA 40104 in Training and Assessment or Certificate IV BSZ40198 in Workplace Training?
In December 2011, the National Skills Standards Council (NSSC) communicated new requirements for trainers and assessors which will come into effect on July 1 2013.
The following changes may be of concern to you:
- All trainers and assessors who are delivering or assessing nationally accredited training will be required to have the Certificate IV TAE 40110 in Training and Assessment or demonstrated equivalence.
- Any trainer or assessor, who does not have the Certificate IV TAE 40110 and is being supervised by someone who does have that qualification, will need to have attained the Enterprise Trainer Skill set. The trainer with this skill set is then eligible to train under supervision but only for a maximum of two years. Then the trainer is expected to have gained the full qualification.
RMIT offers gap courses with RPL to enable you to upgrade to the new Certificate IV TAE40110 in Training and Assessment.
Job roles associated with this qualification relate to the delivery of training and assessment within the VET sector. Possible job titles and roles relevant to this qualification include:
- Enterprise trainer
- Enterprise assessor
- Registered training organisation (RTO) trainer
- RTO assessor
- Vocational education teacher
- VET in VCE or VCAL secondary school teacher
Currently graduates of this program are employed by range of different types of organisations including private RTOs, government departments, schools, community organisations and large TAFE institutes.
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment alumni
The Certificate IV in Training and Assessment contributed to my ongoing professional development and formalised much of what I do in my current role with a recent, respected qualification. The flexible method of delivery was essential for me taking this program.
Professionally, the RMIT brand brings with it a level of respect that I might not have received for the same qualification from alternate TAFE provider. Shortly after completing the program, our work team won an Excellence Award from the eLearning Industry Association of Victoria.
