Success of Entrepreneurship Students in Business Plan Competition Awards

School of Management

The final awards for the 2006 RMIT Business Plan Competition were announced on Oct 11, 2006 at Storey Hall.

The award winners were as follows:

  • City of Melbourne Lord Mayor's Award for International Trade (worth $5,000) went to DIAMOND SHELL (Entrepreneurship Undergrad)
  • City of Melbourne Lord Mayor's Award for Creative Industry (worth $5,000) went to MICHAEL THORNTON DESIGN (Post-grad design student)

Both awards were sponsored by the City of Melbourne.

  • Commonwealth Bank 'Creativity and Innovation Award' (worth $5,000) went to WILY (Post-grad award)

This award was sponsored by the Commonwealth Bank.

  • MENTRE Commercialisation and Growth - High technology Award (to value of $5,000+) went to HUNTER DIESEL (Entrepreneurship Undergrad)

This award was sponsored by Robert Crompton, Executive Director of MENTRE.

OPTIMUM RECRUITMENT provided an award to the value of $5,000+ for all final teams. Each team will nominate 1 team member to attend a recruitment strategy workshop. This is designed to assist new businesses to recruit the 'right' people and plan their staffing needs.

  • 3rd Prize sponsored by RMIT University (worth $5,000) went to FASSHE(Entrepreneurship Undergrad)
  • 2nd Prize sponsored by Fuji Xerox Australia (worth $10,000) went to HUNTER DIESEL
  • 1st Prize sponsored by RMIT University (worth $25,000) went to KEGS ON LEGS(Entrepreneurship Undergrad)
