Fees and return on investment
Program Fees
Fees are payable at the commencement of each semester and are calculated annually. If you are undertaking the program part time or your period of enrolment will cross more than one year, you need to factor in an annual increase to the total program fee.
Fee-help
Australian citizens and holders of a permanent humanitarian visa are eligible to apply for a Higher Education Loan Program (HELP) loan through the Commonwealth Government.
Return on Investment
Whilst most students agree that a primary motivation for studying an MBA is the desire to improve their career prospects and earning potential it is often difficult to quantify what this translates into in terms of dollar outcomes.
MBA candidates by nature tend to be highly motivated individuals. It would be misleading to report their subsequent salary increases as a factor of their MBA program alone.
I definitely got my money’s worth from the program in terms of a pay rise.

So an MBA itself is not a meal ticket: employers look for the total package - drive, ambition, previous track record.
Salary expectations and career prospects after an MBA vary greatly, depending on the industry you work in and the economic conditions you encounter when you hit the job market.
Having said all that, here is something we do know and can report:
- Based on the Graduate Destination Survey of 2005 and 2006 graduates conducted by Graduate Careers Australia the salaries for graduates from masters level coursework programs in management at RMIT which may include MBA were $71,833 for full time students and $105,247 for part-time students.
- Most RMIT MBA (Executive) students are mid-career managers studying part –time.
- Most RMIT MBA students have relatively less work experience and are studying full time.
Earning expectations may also be lower if graduates decide to use their MBA to make a career change (and many do).
But the job market is tightening so an MBA could represent the icing on the cake between two similar candidates.
