Pro Vice-Chancellor Business Executive
Professor Ian Palmer, Pro Vice-Chancellor Business and Vice-President
Ian is responsible for leadership and management of all aspects of the College of Business. This includes development and implementation of strategies to raise the international reputation of the College, its teaching quality, research profile and professional and industry relationships.
Ian also plays an active role in the University's planning, policy and strategic development processes, and leads the strategic planning process and work with College Executive to ensure all College plans are consistent with University objectives.
Professor Val Clulow, Deputy Pro Vice-Chancellor, Learning and Teaching
Val is responsible for providing high level strategic leadership in learning and teaching at University and College level, the implementation of the University’s Learning and Teaching strategy and academic policies within the College and for ensuring the effective delivery and sound management of student learning and academic development support functions within the College.
Professor On Kit Tam, Deputy Pro Vice-Chancellor, International
The International portfolio in the College of Business focuses on developing and implementing the College’s international strategy and policy. It provides strategic oversight and support to the College’s international engagement activities and contributes to RMIT’s mission to be a prominent global university.
On Kit is responsible for College-wide strategic leadership and advice on internationalisation, offshore education programs and the building of strategic global partners to raise the international reputation of the College, and enhance the quality and outcomes in education, research and engagement with international public and private organisations.
Professor Aaron Smith, Deputy Pro Vice-Chancellor, Industry Engagement
Industry engagement is about developing mutually beneficial relationships with business, government, the not-for-profit sector and the community. The College of Business seeks to be the pre-eminent source of work-ready business graduates and industry-relevant research.
Aaron is responsible for enhancing Work Integrated Learning opportunities for students, developing College alumni relations, stimulating industry-based collaborative research, attracting commercial research, education and training, and overseeing College marketing, promotions and events.
Professor Geoffrey Stokes, Deputy Pro Vice-Chancellor, Research and Innovation
Research is a core College of Business activity. Our internationally recognised researchers focus on pursuing rigorous research that provides solutions to industry and society at large and promotes social, cultural and economic benefits.
Gerard Shanahan, Director Planning & Resources
Gerard is responsible for leadership and management of College planning and budget and profile development. The role also has oversight of College resource management and involves working with the schools towards delivery of key College and University targets and objectives.
