It was only fitting that players in the winning team in RMIT University’s annual International Cup soccer tournament came from Mauritius, Singapore, Malaysia and Australia.

The Replacements line up before winning the final.
The Replacements beat the Carebears into second place, followed by Alahli and Rewsters 3.
In all, about 280 students, staff and alumni – and teams from more than 25 countries – fought it out at Bundoora campus. Cameron Lowe was named Player of the Day.
Four of Australia’s Street Socceroos were employed to referee the competition. Darren “Dazzler”, Adrian “Bushy”, Lorenso “Enso” and Trung have all represented Australia at Homeless World Cups.
Louise Cooper, International Student Adviser with RMIT’s International Student Information and Support (ISIS), said numbers were well up on the previous year.
“We had information stalls from the City of Whittlesea, local police, community and health groups. The awards were presented by Whittlesea councillor Pam McLeod.”
The event was sponsored by PFS, Seven Seas Worldwide, ANZ Prepaid Visa, Westpac, TSS, the City of Whittlesea, Ozshisha and Brand Junction.
The cup is on display at the ISIS offices in Building 14, level 4, on the City campus.
