An unconventional fashion collection.
Pitta bread, pineapples and lotus leaves were among the unusual materials used by third-year RMIT University Fashion students in a stunning collection of floral fashions.
The garments were recently on display at the Royal Exhibition Building, as part of the 13th Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show.
Working to the theme of “ritual, ceremony and custom”, the 12 students were given a budget of $200 and had four weeks to design and create their exotic pieces.
RMIT Fashion (Architecture and Design) students have taken part in the Flowers ‘n Fashion display at the flower and garden show for the past seven years, using foliage and plant material to create wearable art designed to last just one week.
