“Raw Edges” – Graduate fashion parade 2006

Bachelor of Design (Fashion) 3rd Year, School of Architecture and Design

Exhibition dates: Friday 24 – Sunday 26 November

‘Raw Edges’ was held at the RMIT Village Ballroom and was a total sell out. Filled to capacity for the show, the Ballroom featured a slim black catwalk to parade the future fashions. The show featured cute childrenswear, lingerie and nightwear, cut-out swimwear and beachwear, a cascade of cocktail dresses, urban layers and exquisite and elegant evening wear in gold and ivory silks, burgundy, scarlet and chartreuse satin, monotone hues and much more. Bubble style skirts and dresses were popular among the designs, as were interestingly tailored jackets and suits. There were also sections of work with industry including ‘Designs on Denim’ with Guess – some very inventive use of denim with other fabrics, and stylish work wear with neoprene fabric.
