Staff giving

RMIT has a wonderful history and heritage of supporting the education of working men and women in Victoria. A heritage built on the generosity of many foremost of all a substantial gift made by Francis Ormond to establish the Working Mens' College.

This benefaction was enhanced further through collaboration with Trades Hall Victoria who established a scholarship fund to support the education of talented students.

Many ordinary workers gave willingly according to their means to contribute to this fund which eventually matched and then exceeded the founding gift.

Staff wishing to continue this tradition of philanthropy and support are encouraged to contribute to the Annual Appeal by registering for fortnightly payroll deductions.

Funds raised from this appeal will be used to create a range of new scholarships to support current and future students.

By donating through RMIT staff payroll giving, you receive your tax deduction for your donation each pay, rather than having to wait until the end of the tax year. At the end of each year, RMIT will provide you with confirmation of your donations to RMIT.

To register for payroll giving, simply complete a staff payroll giving form (PDF 320KB) and return to People and Culture, Building 51, Level 3, City Campus.
