Council approved the Infrastructure Plan – Property 2012-2016, noting that the Infrastructure Plan would be improved by consistency in format and terminology.

Council approved the revised Financial and Legal delegations schedules, Staffing Delegations, and Delegations Policy and the execution under seal of Instrument(s) of Delegation to give effect to the delegations.

Variation of Terms of Scholarships

Paper C-007-11-010

Council received and approved the following recommendations:

Recommendation 1 Emily McPherson Hospitality Award (610015): funds for this award to be transferred and shared between the Emily McPherson Fashion Award and Emily McPherson Consumer Science Award.

Recommendation 2 Sir George Verdon Prize (610024): work created by students remains the intellectual property of the student consistent with current RMIT Intellectual Property Policy. The terms and condition of the endowment should be amended accordingly.

Naming of Facilities - City, Bundoora and Vietnam

  1. That Academic Building 1 on the South Saigon campus is named as the 'David Beanland Building'. 
  2. That Building 220 on the Bundoora campus is named as the 'Leo Foster Building'.
  3. That Building 14, on the City campus, is named as the 'Percival Jackson Building'.

Paper C-007-11-012

Council noted and approved the following reports and recommendations of the Academic Board:

  • That the title of the award be amended from Associate Degree in Engineering Technology (Civil Engineering) to Associate Degree in Engineering Technology (Civil), commencing from Semester 1, 2013
  • That the title of the award be amended from Associate Degree in Engineering Technology (Network Engineering) to Associate Degree in Engineering Technology (Network), commencing from Semester 1, 2013
  • The Bachelor of Applied Science (Construction Management) be delivered in partnership with the Vocational Training Council in Hong Kong, commencing Semester 1, 2013
  • The proposed governance arrangements and associated thematic framework of the Indigenous Specialisation.
